Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a 1964 Rankin-Bass animated film, featured Canadian voice actors for all characters except Sam the Snowman. This choice stemmed from lower labor costs and a greater talent pool in Canada. Notable voice actors included Billie Mae Richards, Larry Mann, and Paul Soles, contributing significantly to this classic holiday film.

“A Special Christmas” is the animated holiday feature released in 1981 based on Johnny Hart’s comic strip “B.C.” It’s the story about two unscrupulous cavemen who think up a great scheme for Christmas that is worth checking out if you’re a fan of comics.
In “Peanuts,” Linus quoted from the Gospel of Luke on December 20, 1959. His dialogue in that strip was later used in “A Charlie Brown Christmas” in a scene that Charles Schulz had to fight to include, and it became one of the special’s indelible moments.
Planet Joey creator, author and Cartoonist David Brown appeared on Michael Grassia’s livestream/podcast Get in Toon! to talk shop.
